For those wanting to push their physical limits this weekend, the Vail Hill Climb will be hosted on the slopes of Vail Mountain on Saturday. Brought to you by the Vail Recreation Center, the Dynafit Trail Running Series tests skill but it also is a lot of fun and a great way to check your fitness level, especially if you have been training all season for this run.

The distance for this race is 7.6 miles and the course starts on next to Mountain Haus at the base of Bridge Street. After winding through the quaint village of Vail where you’ll see ski shops, cafes, and boutiques, you’ll ascend through some homes until you find yourself on Vail Mountain where the views really start to open up. There’s a reason Colorado Runner magazine has named this the Best Trail Race in 2006 and 2011.

After the race ends, there will be awards and raffle prizes given out at the race finish. Everyone can download Gondola One (No. 1) after that wraps up.

If you have family and friends who want to watch you cross the finish line at Mid-Vail, please pick up passes for them when you pick up your bib. Timing is very important for them and they must have the passes with them and be on the Gondola One (No. 1) at the top of Bridge Street between 7-7:30 a.m. The gondola will only be uploading race staff and spectators from 7-7:30 a.m. After 7:30 a.m. your family and friends who want to spectate at Mid-Vail would need to wait until the gondola opens to the public at 9:30 a.m. and purchase a ticket.
