Core Transit is the Vail Valley’s new transportation authority as EVTA and ECO Transit combine operations

Service frequency and fare-free status will remain the same, for now

The Eagle Valley Transportation Authority and ECO Transit are combining into one organization under the new name, Core Transit.

The Eagle Valley Transportation Authority and ECO Transit are combining operations under a new name: Core Transit.

Core Transit serves Eagle County along the Interstate 70 and Highway 6 corridors from Dotsero to Vail and includes Minturn, Red Cliff and Leadville routes along U.S. Highway 24. Core Transit will maintain the same routes as previously operated by ECO Transit, including Highway 6, Minturn, Valley, Leadville, and Vail/Beaver Creek Express routes. Buses will now bear Core Transit wrappings.

Core Transit’s 10-year plan is focused on listening to the community to identify where more bus services are needed and exploring new, creative ways to keep everyone moving effortlessly.



About Core Transit

Core Transit is a user-friendly, multi-modal transportation authority that has an annual ridership of over 1 million and a route completion rate of 98%.

Founded in 2022 with voter approval, Core is funded by a half-penny sales tax for operations, including fare-free service on almost all routes. For those in fare-collecting zones (Gypsum and Leadville), Core will continue to provide riders with access to the

Core Transit also now has  allowing riders to track buses in real-time and receive text alerts catered to their bus stop requests.

Core Transit has launched a bilingual SMS/email community news program to communicate with the community.  and be the first to know about new schedule releases, updates on the 10-year transit plan development, public board meetings and more.
