Election Results: Results clear in local races

Polls close across Colorado at 7 p.m.

9:57 p.m. – Election night offered few surprises in the District 1 race for the Eagle County Board of Commissioners, with incumbent Democrat Matt Scherr poised to claim a win over Republican challenger Gregg Cooper.

9:36 p.m. – The last round of results won’t come in until around midnight.



9:04 p.m. – Another wave of results has been posted by , bringing the number of ballots counted to 24,138.

8:40 p.m. – Eagle County voters rejected the contentious ballot measure seeking to ban big cat hunting, with 13,300 voting no and 8,522 voting yes. Statewide, 1,202,165 voted no while 979,634 voted yes.

8:30 p.m. – Statewide, Meghan Lukens leads Nathan Butler 22,424 votes to 14,401 in the race for State Representative in District 26.

7:50 p.m. – This statewide ballot issue result roundup includes all 14 measures.

7:35 p.m. – Statewide, Democrat Joe Neguse is leading the race for the U.S. Representative in District 2 with 58.95% of the vote, while Republican Marshall Dawson has 39.02%.

7:30 p.m. – In the town of Gypsum ballot issue to increase taxes, 1,613 voted no, while 1,373 voted yes.

7:27 p.m. – In the Minturn ballot issue to increase an excise tax on short-term rentals, 344 voted yes, while 124 voted no.

7:25 p.m. – The Avon ballot measure requesting a use tax on new construction is leaning yes, with 928 voting yes, and 803 voting no.

7:22 p.m. – The Eagle River Fire Protection District Ballot Issue asking to increase taxes is passing, with 5,255 voting yes and 2,821 voting no.

7:20 p.m. – In the Town of Avon ߣÏÈÉú race, the top three candidates will be elected. Lindsay L. Hardy has 1,005 votes, Gary Brooks has 912, Kevin Hyatt has 802 and Calyn Dean Rieger has 516.

7:17 p.m. – In the race for County Commissioner – District 1, Democratic candidate Matt Scherr leads Republican Gregg Cooper 12,765 votes to 8,693

7:15 p.m. – The first round of results out of Eagle County include 23,063 ballots counted.

7:00 p.m. – Polls have closed in Colorado.

6:53 p.m. – Colorado’s electoral votes have gone to the Democratic candidate in the last four presidential elections. The last time Colorado voted for the Republican candidate was for George W. Bush in 2004.

6:42 p.m. – Colorado has 10 electoral votes, gaining one since the 2020 election. In the , Colorado went blue, with 55.4% voting for Democratic candidates Biden/Harris, while 41.9% voted for the Republican candidates of Trump/Pence.

6:30 p.m. – Colorado allows votes to be counted ahead of election day, so many mailed-in ballots have already been counted. That means the first wave of results will be available shortly after polls close at 7 p.m. .
