3 Colorado resorts are charging $299 for a lift ticket this weekend
Price of a single-day lift ticket during the busy holiday week has risen by $100 over the last six years
Vail Mountain is charging $299 for a single day of lift access during the busy holiday week, up from $275 last season.
That represents a $100 jump in the price of a single-day ticket over the last six years. In 2021, a single-day pass during the holiday week was $239; it was $229 in 2020, $219 in 2019, $209 in 2018 and $199 in 2017.
And while it’s the highest lift ticket price guests have ever seen in Vail, it’s not alone as the highest in the country. Steamboat and Deer Valley are also charging $299 currently, and Deer Valley is no longer selling lift tickets for the coming weekend.
Here’s what Colorado ski resorts are charging for a 1-day, same-day lift ticket for Friday, Dec. 29:
- Vail – $299
- Steamboat Springs – $299
- Beaver Creek – $299
- Breckenridge – $279
- Keystone – $269
- Copper Mountain – $259
- Winter Park – $259
- Aspen Snowmass – $244
- Arapahoe Basin – $189
- Loveland – $149
Limiting ticket sales is also a possibility at Vail and Beaver Creek, although the resorts have yet to exercise that option, said Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek spokesperson John Plack.

“Guests are strongly encouraged to secure their lift access in advance,” Plack said. “We always recommend that guests without an Epic Pass purchase lift tickets online, since buying early can save up to 15 percent.”
Vail Resorts sells a single-day pass option called the Epic Day Pass which, if purchased early, offers a single day of access to the company’s premium resorts for $101.
“At Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek Resort, approximately three-quarters of our visitation comes from guests using an Epic Pass product, which provides an incredible value compared to the window lift ticket price,” Plack said. “Additionally, ߣÏÈÉú With a Friend and Buddy Tickets will be available for purchase online and in-person at the window this season. This is a great way to save for guests who are skiing with friends that have an Epic Pass.”
The Buddy Pass rate for Vail Mountain is fixed at $181, while the ߣÏÈÉú With a Friend changes daily. On Thursday, a ߣÏÈÉú With a Friend pass was $264.
Plack said guests visiting from out of town can also find discounted rates by bundling their lift tickets with lodging at a Vail Resorts hotel.
“We are offering a bundle to stay 4+ nights, ski 3+ days and save 15% on lodging and lift tickets,” he said.
Vail currently has 86% of the mountain’s terrain open. Of Vail’s seven Back Bowls, two are not yet accessible as guests wait for the Mongolia Poma (No. 22) to open, allowing access to Inner and Outer Mongolia Bowls.
