Building on Bob Finlay’s October 18, 2024, letter about fixing the Vail post office parking lot, the Avon post office parking lot needs to be fixed too.

In June 2024, I contacted our U.S. representative and both U.S. senators about the long-term deplorable and dangerous condition of the Avon parking lot and, rather than any action, received boilerplate responses with platitudes about how important it is for them to have heard from me. Rep. Joe Neguse’s response said, “I will send you a more in-depth response soon…” It’s October and no response. Sen. Michael Bennett’s response said, “We’ll keep your thoughts in mind as we review relevant legislation and further consider this issue.” I received no response from Sen. John Hickenlooper.

How about ensuring tax dollars are spent first on U.S. citizens’ domestic matters and only then sending tax dollars overseas or spending on non-citizens?
